• charitable status declined
(by Garth Whelen)

the concern is business, with intentions of being run too much like a business to qualify as a charity, but that doesn't change our focus on community development and reducing ecological impact; mirth manufacturing concern was founded as a non-profit company anyway, so our desire to get/keep people working shouldn't suffer.

Don't fear, we'll address the application for charitable status again, when we're big enough and self-sufficient enough to be spending more on our community and project development than we currently struggle to for basic administrative and operating expenses.
